Building YOUR Business WEB

Are you trying to sell something such as a house, car, or another product or service? Is your business based on you searching for items to buy such as a house, antique car or other item? You may think you are selling or buying a specific product or service, but in fact you are selling yourself!!  If people like and trust you, they will do business with you.

Marketing today is totally different from years ago. Today, there is a vast selection of tools to market you and your company worldwide and on a very small budget. You can spend an enormous amount of money and have it setup for you, or you can do it yourself very inexpensively. There are some people who say, “I have a webpage, I’m covered”. It’s great that they have a webpage for their business but that is only the very smallest tip of the iceberg. The business webpage is only the starting foundation.

When someone is searching for a product or service on the web, they go to search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo.  The different engines display results to the search queries based on a “magical” score that is assigned to each website.  The results are then displayed in order of their score. We all want to be at the top of the list but unless you spend a lot of money, that probably won’t happen. There are ways to increase your score and climb up that list.  By using several Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools/plans you will accomplish the same goal.

Your business webpage represents one small thread in the massive fabric of the world wide web. Without other key ingredients, your webpage alone would result in a very low SEO score. Your business’s successes hinges on building your “own” web. To do this, you will want to create multiple sites, pages or profiles on the web pointing back to your business webpage.

Once you establish your webpage, the bulk of your expenses are paid. Many of the tools to build the other threads of your web are FREE.  A few examples of the other “sites” would include Facebook personal and business pages, Google+ pages, LinkedIn pages, YouTube, Blogger.com, Twitter.com and others. Once these are all established, each page or profile will point back to your main business webpage and your webpage will point to each of the other sites.  Instead of just one thread on the web, you will have several threads, all connecting together to form your very own web.

Some companies go as far as setting up all of the above then duplicating the entire process with another business webpage and accompanying sites. The new sites all point back to the parent website, whole heartedly endorsing the parent website.

Every time another site points to your website, your SEO Score increases and you climb up the ranking in the search engine results. Higher ranking equates to more visitors and possible customers/sales for your business.

Once your web is established, you need to update your site regularly with fresh information. When you have a property to sell, make a blog post, giving the details with pictures and if possible, short videos.  Text posts gain SEO points, pictures gain more points and videos gain the most points. Videos have a higher possibility of being watched than a long article being read.  Watch the online news sources, they have the written report and a video. Most people click to watch the video and then move on.

Another consideration in promoting your site and increasing your SEO Score, is to use emails that are connected to your website, such as yourname@yourdomain.comsales@yourdomain.com,investors@yourdomain.com instead of JoeBob@yahoo.com orMycompany@aol.com. Using your business e-mail presents a much more professional image.

At first glance, the multiple ingredients that will make up your web may seem overwhelming. You will soon find that it actually takes little money or effort to set up. Maintaining the sites should not consume a lot of time either.  As stated at the beginning of this article, you can spend an enormous amount of money to have someone do it all for you or you can do it yourself very inexpensively.
